Our engagement

Created by Sara 4 years ago

1972. Keith came down to Hampshire to meet my parents. He brought me a present of an unopened packet of Woodbines which I was not immediately grateful for.  When I opened the packet, my engagement ring was inside. Such a lot of mischief!

As was the fashion at the time he was wearing a grandad collarless shirt and a long red cotton scarf with frayed edges knotted round his neck. My mother welcomed him and then got out a pair of scissors and cut off the frayed part of his scarf to “tidy him up a bit”.
